Alloy Steel F5 is a low-alloy steel containing 5% Chromium and 0.5% Molybdenum, celebrated for its strength at high temperatures and resistance to oxidation. Its typical makeup features Chromium (4.0–6.0%), Molybdenum (0.45–0.65%), along with trace amounts of Carbon, Manganese, Silicon, and Phosphorus. This material delivers impressive tensile strength ranging from 415–585 MPa, yield strength between 205–310 MPa, and moderate elongation. F5 steel is heat-treatable, ensuring excellent performance in high-temperature settings. It is often normalized and tempered to enhance its mechanical properties and extend its service life in critical pressure-bound applications.
