Stainless Steel 1.4122 Bars are martensitic stainless steel with about 0.26–0.35% Carbon, 1.0% Silicon, 1.0% Manganese, and 12.0–14.0% Chromium. The composition makes it harder and more resistant to wear. The mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of approximately 750–950 MPa, yield strength of 500–700 MPa, and good hardness after heat treatment. The steel also exhibits reasonable toughness and machinability. Its corrosion resistance is greater than that of standard martensitic steels and is compatible with moderately aggressive environments. These characteristics make it appropriate for components that need high strength and moderate corrosion resistance.
