We’re known for our commitment to quality, durability, and precision. Our A286 bars are designed to meet the rigorous demands of aerospace, petrochemical, and industrial applications. This iron-nickel-chromium-based austenitic alloy is celebrated for its remarkable high-temperature strength and resistance to corrosion. We ensure that every piece of material we deliver undergoes strict quality controls, guaranteeing optimal performance even in the toughest conditions. With a strong supply network and a customer-first mindset, Ojas Pipes and Tubes is your trusted partner for specialty alloy bars and rods.
The A286 Bar and Rod is mainly made up of Iron as the base, with around 25% Nickel, 14% Chromium, 1.25% Molybdenum, and small amounts of Titanium, Vanadium, and Aluminum. It boasts impressive tensile strength (~895 MPa), solid yield strength (~585 MPa), and excellent oxidation resistance up to 1300°F (704°C). A286 retains its mechanical integrity even at high temperatures and can be heat-treated to boost its strength. Its austenitic microstructure allows for good formability, while aging treatment enhances its creep and stress rupture properties—making it perfect for demanding, high-performance environments.

A286 bars are available in various sizes, typically ranging from 1/8" to 12" in diameter. Common finishes include hot-rolled, cold-drawn, polished, and ground, depending on the supplier.
A286 alloy, a high-strength, corrosion-resistant steel, can be susceptible to galvanic corrosion when in contact with more electropositive metals, particularly in saline or corrosive environments. Proper isolation is recommended.
Yes, A286 bar can be welded using appropriate techniques, such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or gas metal arc welding (GMAW), with proper preheating and post-weld heat treatment to avoid cracking.
A286 Bars and Rods are widely utilized in aerospace and high-temperature industrial settings due to their exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. They’re perfect for crafting turbine components, jet engine parts, exhaust systems, fasteners, and springs. In the automotive and power sectors, A286 is a go-to choice for high-performance engine parts and gas turbines. It also finds its place in cryogenic applications, offshore equipment, and heat exchangers where thermal stability and fatigue resistance are crucial. Plus, A286’s outstanding machinability and weldability make it an attractive option for precision-engineered components in extreme service conditions.
