Carbon Steel AISI 1018 Bars/Rods consist of mostly iron and carbon with a content of about 0.15-0.20% carbon, manganese at about 0.60-0.90%, and very small percentages of phosphorus and sulfur. These bars provide a tensile strength of about 440 MPa, yield strength at about 370 MPa, and good elongation and ductility. AISI 1018 bars are well known for their uniformity and consistency. They possess a Brinell hardness of around 126 and show excellent surface finish. These bars are ideal for cold forming, machining, and welding processes because of their mechanical and chemical properties.
