Duplex Steel S32205 is a balanced structure of 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and minor components of nitrogen, manganese, and copper. Its composition makes it stronger and resistant to corrosion. The steel has great mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of about 620-850 MPa and yield strength of around 450 MPa. The duplex microstructure gives it high toughness, good weldability, and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting and is therefore great for harsh industrial use when both strength and durability are needed.
