Monel Flat Bars, which are mainly made up of nickel (63–70%) and copper (20–29%), also include minute amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. This special alloy is highly resistant to corrosion and acidic conditions. It possesses a tensile strength of about 70–85 ksi (483–586 MPa), yield strength of around 25–45 ksi (172–310 MPa), and elongation of 30–40%. Monel shows good ductility and toughness with a wide temperature range. All these mechanical properties render Monel Flat Bars suitable for applications in high stress that require strength and corrosion resistance.
