Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is an alpha-beta alloy made up of about 6% Aluminum, 4% Vanadium, and 90% Titanium, along with some trace elements. It boasts an impressive mix of lightweight design, high tensile strength (~895 MPa), yield strength (~828 MPa), and outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater, as well as in oxidizing and chloride-rich environments. With an elongation of around 10–14%, it remains stable even at temperatures up to 400°C. Additionally, Grade 5 can be heat treated, offering more flexibility for forged components. These mechanical properties make it an excellent choice for demanding engineering applications that require both strength and low weight.
