The austenitic alloy known as stainless steel 316 flat bar is made up of 2–3% molybdenum, 10–14% nickel, and 16–18% chromium. Its resistance to corrosion is greatly increased by the addition of molybdenum, particularly in environments that are marine and chloride-rich. With an elongation of 40%, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of 515 MPa, it provides exceptional mechanical qualities. It has a high melting point of 1375–1400°C and is very resilient to rust, pitting, and cracking. It is perfect for demanding industrial applications because of its exceptional strength, toughness, and weldability.
