Stainless Steel 316L Flat Bars contain essentially iron, 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum, for corrosion resistance and high strength. The low carbon content (up to 0.03%) reduces carbide precipitation, for better weldability. Mechanically, 316L flat bars have a tensile strength of around 485 MPa and yield strength of around 170 MPa, with a minimum elongation of 40%. Their high toughness coupled with pitting and crevice corrosion resistance makes them perfectly suitable for demanding environments. The alloy has structural integrity even at high temperatures, allowing for enduring performance.
