410 Flat Bar Stainless Steel is a martensitic stainless steel with around 11.5–13.5% chromium, and insignificant amounts of manganese, silicon, carbon (max 0.15%), phosphorus, and sulfur. Its composition has good corrosion resistance and high strength. Mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of approximately 480–680 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa (min), and high hardness and wear resistance. It can be heat treated for added strength and hardness. The bar is good for machinability and has moderate corrosion resistance, and thus it is best for applications where high mechanical strength is essential.
