Stainless Steel 420 is a martensitic stainless steel that contains around 0.15–0.40% Carbon, 12–14% Chromium, along with trace amounts of Manganese, Silicon, and Sulfur. After heat treatment, it achieves high hardness and strength, with tensile strength typically ranging from 700–900 MPa and hardness levels reaching up to 50 HRC or more when fully hardened. While its corrosion resistance is moderate compared to austenitic grades, it performs admirably in mildly corrosive environments.
