Stainless Steel 317 Hollow Bar is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that boasts a high molybdenum content, which significantly boosts its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Its typical makeup features 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and a low carbon content (≤ 0.08%). This alloy provides enhanced strength and corrosion resistance compared to 316 stainless steel. It has a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of about 35%. The alloy is non-magnetic, offers excellent formability and weldability, and retains its mechanical integrity even under moderately high temperatures and aggressive chemical conditions.
