Stainless Steel 431 is a martensitic stainless steel alloy comprising about 15-17% chromium, 0.2-0.4% carbon, and traces of manganese, silicon, and nickel. This alloy has great corrosion resistance along with high hardness and strength. The mechanical properties of Stainless Steel 431 Square Bars/Rods include tensile strength between 655-860 MPa, yield strength of about 450 MPa, and elongation ranging from 15-25%. Its hardness can be greatly enhanced by heat treatment, and hence it is used in applications that need wear resistance and toughness under severe conditions.
