316 Stainless Steel Round Bars and Rods contain 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, and 2–3% Molybdenum with the base element being Iron and traces of Manganese, Silicon, and Carbon. The bars have very good mechanical properties with some tensile strength of about 515 MPa, some yield strength of about 205 MPa, and an elongation of 40%. The addition of molybdenum greatly enhances corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride and acidic media.
