Stainless Steel 317 Round Bars and Rods are made from austenitic stainless steel, featuring a higher molybdenum content that boosts resistance to chemical attacks. The typical chemical composition includes 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and a carbon content of up to 0.08%. This alloy offers better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance compared to 316. It boasts a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and good ductility with an elongation of roughly 35%. Stainless Steel 317 retains its strength and corrosion resistance even in high-temperature, acidic, and chloride-rich environments.
