Stainless Steel 316L Round Bars and Rods are crafted from low-carbon austenitic stainless steel alloys, featuring around 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and a maximum of 0.03% carbon. This lower carbon content significantly boosts corrosion resistance, particularly against intergranular attack post-welding. These bars boast impressive mechanical strength, with a tensile strength of roughly 485 MPa and a yield strength of about 170 MPa. They also exhibit high ductility, good elongation (around 40%), and retain their strength even at higher temperatures. In their annealed state, 316L is non-magnetic and offers excellent formability and weldability.
