Aluminium 1050 is a commercially pure aluminum alloy that contains a minimum of 99.5% aluminum, along with trace elements like iron (0.4%) and silicon (0.25%). It boasts remarkable thermal and electrical conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, and high ductility. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 65 to 95 MPa, a yield strength of about 30 MPa, and an elongation of up to 35%, depending on the temper and processing. Although it can’t be heat treated, Aluminium 1050 is perfect for cold working and forging. It’s often used in applications where high formability and resistance to chemical corrosion are more important than strength.
