Aluminium 2014 is a robust, heat-treatable alloy with a typical makeup of 3.9–5.0% Copper, 0.4–1.2% Silicon, 0.2–0.8% Magnesium, along with trace amounts of Manganese and other elements. It boasts impressive mechanical properties, featuring a tensile strength of 450–520 MPa and a yield strength of around 380 MPa, along with good fatigue resistance. The alloy is known for its excellent machinability, decent corrosion resistance, and favorable response to heat treatment.
