Aluminium 7050 Forgings consist mainly of aluminium (approximately 87.1–90.5%), zinc (5.7–6.7%), magnesium (1.9–2.6%), copper (2.0–2.6%), and trace elements such as zirconium. This alloy possesses superior mechanical properties such as tensile strength of around 510–570 MPa, yield strength of 430–505 MPa, and high fatigue resistance. It also boasts superior stress corrosion cracking resistance, particularly in heavy sections. Having a high strength-to-weight ratio, Aluminium 7050 exhibits excellent results in heat-treatment conditions like T7451 or T7651, and it is best suited for extreme structural applications.

Yes, Aluminum 7050 can be forged into shapes with tight tolerances, as it offers good strength and machinability. However, precise control over temperature and pressure is required for optimal results.
Aluminum 7050 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its limited heat resistance. It is better suited for aerospace and structural applications, offering good strength at lower temperatures.
Aluminum 7050 offers high strength, excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and good fatigue resistance. It's ideal for aerospace and military applications, providing superior performance in custom forgings.
Aluminium 7050 Forgings are widely applied in high-strength and corrosion-resistant industries, especially aerospace and aviation. Common uses are in aircraft structural parts, fuselage frames, wing skins, bulkheads, and landing gear components. Outside aerospace, they find applications in high-performance automotive parts, defense systems, and boat hardware. Their superior fatigue resistance and mechanical stability recommend them for critical components with cyclic loading and harsh environment exposure. Being a popular option for structural uses where reliability and weight are important, Forgings of Aluminium 7050 ensure enhanced performance, safety, and fuel economy in numerous advanced engineering disciplines.
