Aluminium 6063 is an aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy that contains about 0.2–0.6% silicon, 0.45–0.9% magnesium, along with trace amounts of iron, manganese, and chromium. It’s celebrated for its good corrosion resistance, stunning surface finish, and decent strength. Typically, Aluminium 6063 forgings have a tensile strength ranging from 150–240 MPa, depending on the temper. This alloy is heat-treatable and boasts great weldability and extrudability.
