Rupal Metals, with its dedication towards precise engineering and high–quality material, provides products according to various industrial requirements and customer needs. Their 316L stainless steel bars/rods are best suited for high-performance applications, particularly where chemical and marine condition resistance is important. With industry experience spanning decades, Rupal Metals has established itself in terms of timely delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction in diverse sectors in India and overseas.
Stainless Steel 316L Bars/Rods consist mainly of iron, chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), and molybdenum (2–3%), which improves corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides. The alloy has low carbon levels that reduce carbide precipitation during welding. Mechanically, 316L has a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40%. It exhibits good ductility, formability, and high-temperature properties, and it is suitable for pressure-containing and structural applications. Its non-magnetic quality in the annealed state contributes to its versatility in specific engineering applications.

Stainless Steel 316L contains molybdenum, which enhances resistance to chloride-induced pitting and corrosion, making it highly suitable for marine and coastal applications.
Yes, the low carbon content in 316L minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance even in heat-affected zones.
316L bars and rods are widely used in marine, chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, and medical industries due to their corrosion resistance and durability.
Stainless Steel 316L Bars/Rods find extensive application in industry due to their durability in corrosive environments. Typical applications are chemical processing equipment, marine hardware, heat exchangers, pharmaceutical and food processing equipment, and medical implants. The resistance of Stainless Steel 316L Bars/Rods to pitting, crevice corrosion, and intergranular corrosion serves to make them suitable for service in chloride and acidic environments. In addition to this, these bars/rods are also commonly used in building structures, pulp and paper industries, and nuclear power stations, where durability and hygiene both play key roles. Weldability and ease of fabrication further increase their application in precision engineering.
