Rupal Metals’ Stainless Steel 316H Bars/Rods are high-carbon versions of 316 stainless steel that have been engineered for increased strength and heat resistance. They generally have 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and a maximum of 0.10% Carbon, with the presence of traces of Manganese and Silicon. They have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40% over 50mm. The higher carbon content enhances creep resistance and mechanical properties at high temperatures. Recognized for their excellent weldability and resistance to corrosion, these bars can be applied in both structural and high-pressure conditions.

Stainless Steel 316H has a higher carbon content than regular 316, which provides improved strength and makes it ideal for high-temperature applications. It can withstand higher stress and heat, making it suitable for demanding industries like petrochemical and power generation.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316H is highly resistant to corrosion, especially in chloride-rich and high-temperature environments. The addition of molybdenum enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it suitable for marine and chemical industries.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316H is highly weldable, and it retains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even after welding. However, it is recommended to use low-carbon electrodes for welding to maintain its corrosion resistance and structural integrity.
Stainless Steel 316H Bars and Rods find extensive use in applications that need resistance to high temperatures and corrosive atmospheres. Major industries are petrochemicals, power generation, refineries, and marine engineering. These bars are also used to fabricate pressure vessels, heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, and industrial boilers. Their high strength and resilience qualify them for applications in construction, structural frames, and high-temperature piping systems. Further, 316H bars are also applied in the food and pharmaceutical industries where corrosion resistance and hygiene are of key importance, providing a strong and durable solution for different demanding situations.
