Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Rods/Bars are martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steels with around 17% chromium, 4% nickel, 3–5% copper, and small amounts of the elements niobium. This alloy provides a perfect blend of high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance. These are attained using heat treatment techniques such as aging. Some of the mechanical properties are tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa, yield strength of approximately 1000 MPa, and hardness of up to HRC 35–44, depending on condition. It also offers good toughness, even at low temperatures, and retains its integrity in corrosive environments and high-stress conditions.
